The MAS Portal repository is an innovative approach to museum learning in Cyprus since it offers Cypriot museum staff and school educators the opportunity to virtually connect and cooperate with each other, as well as extend their network of collaboration beyond Cyprus by developing partnerships with their counterparts from different parts of Europe.

Unlike the current status quo for the majority of schools, MAS offers a federation of remote museums as potential partners to work with school staff towards projects and does not require a physical visit to a museum. This is an alternative to the routine museum-school relationship. In addition, the focus is on the use of multiliteracies and multimodally mediated approaches to learning, rather than print-based methods which are predominant in schools.

This repository allows to find institutional profiles and enables an online network of museum-school collaborations with dedicated learning spaces and portfolio of partnerships’ progress. The latter increases visibility and attraction of the museums, and provides unique opportunities for schools to collaborate with these cultural institutions. Such creative synergies stimulate dialogue between museum educators, schoolteachers and students.

Steps to use the Partnership Finder:

  1. 1. Create a profile
  2. 2. Fill in the details of your organisation.
  3. 3. Search for partners using the filters available.
  4. 4. Network and collaborate.
